FAQ-340:
Can customers receiving service under the Data Center Tariff select competitive service from a CRES Provider or SSO?
Please see the AEP Ohio Tariff Book for information on availability of service under each schedule. Specifically, customers receiving service under the Schedule Data Center Tariff (“DCT”) may select competitive service from a CRES Provider or SSO. However, please note that on August 5, 2026, the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (the “Commission”) issued a Finding and Order in Case No. 26-113-EL-ATA granting AEP Ohio’s February 6, 2026, request for interim relief regarding the provision of SSO for data center customers taking service under AEP Ohio’s Schedule DCT (Data Center Tariff). On August 28, 2026, AEP Ohio filed revised tariff pages in compliance with the August 5th Order. As approved by the Commission, AEP Ohio will conduct a separate procurement process for the provision of SSO to serve data center customers on AEP Ohio’s Schedule DCT that return to or select SSO. As adopted by the Commission, such data center customers on AEP Ohio’s Schedule DCT who take retail generation service from AEP Ohio will be served through a separate procurement process from the default SSO auction and their load will not be included in the default SSO auction product being offered in the Auction scheduled for November 3, 2026.
